Sondra Bernstein has spent over twenty years dedicated to the hospitality business. With a passion for food and wine, the trip from Philadelphia to Sonoma County was inevitable. In 1997, she opened the girl and the fig restaurant in Sonoma County. She uses products from the many local farmers, ranchers, cheese-makers and, of course, grape growers & vintners in this bountiful landscape. Now you don't have to travel to Sonoma, CA to taste these delicious products. This girl has transformed the fig into an array of delicious jams, confits, vinaigrettes and chutneys for you to enjoy.Unable to sit still for too long, the girl & the fig product line came from a restless night, thinking about how to continue to brand the company when our guests were not there. The items on our menu that contain figs were the recipes that our guests always asked for or if they could buy some to take home. Because of this, it seemed like the logical place to start. The Grilled Fig & Arugula Salad has been on the menu since day 1, because of its popularity it was only natural to bottle the vinaigrette, so that our guests could try to replicate the salad at home. -Sondra Bernstein
